Jerry Phillips 27, USCG EN 2nd Class, Coast Guard Cutter Point Welcome, was killed Aug. 11th, 1966 by friendly fire from a U. S. Airforce aircraft while patrolling the waters off the coast of South Vietnam.

Jerry leaves his wife, Linda Nell Curran-Phillips and three sons, Jerry Clyde Phillips(1960), Gary Wayne Phillips (1962) and Daniel Joseph Phillips (1964), his mother, Worda Ayres and a half-sister Patty Ayers
