Arial view of Coast Guard Base Mayport with many changes and new construction since my tour of duty 1969-1970 .During this time CG Base Mayport was a unit under the Command of Group Mayport. The Group Commander and Base CO were one in the same along with his staff officers.
The Base was also known as a Buoy Repair Depot as well. The buoys and chain were sandblasted and painted. New lights installed and recharged.
