This is a 13 i/2 ft. Boston Whaler like the one carried on the CGC Point Cypress. I am amazed at the bravery of FN Hernandez and the 2 CG Officers that used an open boat with small arms for weapons to perform recon missions on the Rach Nang River. In addition, the color of the boat was white which made them an easy target for the VC. The Boston Whaler, known for being able to stay afloat, made it back to the Point Cypress even though it and crew were riddled with automatic gunfire.
