The CGC Bittersweet was one of the Cutters I was assigned to support as Type Desk Officer in the 1st CG District's Naval Engineering Branch. Bitterweet was a 180 ft. buoy tender fitted with an ice breaking bow. Her home port was Woods Hole, Ma. until decommissioned on 18 August 1997.
